Adventures at the con

Adventures at the con

Its easy to lose track of the little picture when thinking about a business. In our age of connectivity and social media, we tend to see businesses as these faceless entities that churn out products and disregard reviews. We forget that behind the scenes, there are people just like you and I who are doing their best to keep things running smoothly. This week I got a chance to tag along and see the bits and pieces of how a business is run, and more importantly, the people who help build it up.

I went in expecting to see quick, emotionless deals and plans for product purchasing made. What I got instead was a heartwarming look into what small business is all about. We were called by name, patted on the back (literally in some cases) and generally just made to feel comfortable. Of course there was business done, and money exchanged, but it never felt forced or soul less, I realized about halfway through the day that I was enjoying myself!

I was able to get a glimpse of the amazing communities and connections and, dare I say it, relationships that are garnered through trust and a common respect for each others expertise and goals. We may not be a huge business, but that doesn't make us any less important, to our customers or to our wonderful sales reps who've grown alongside us in most cases. I'm looking forward to these next few days, and eager to be apart of this awesome adventure.
